Dr. Andrew Corbett…
Andrew Corbett pastors Legana Christian Church in Northern Tasmania. He is on the National Leadership Team of the Acts 2 Alliance (a movement of churches around Australia). He is the former Director of the Tasmanian Family Institute. He is the co-author of the Salamanca Declaration (a joint statement by the heads of denominations and major Tasmanian churches upholding the sanctity of life, religious liberty, and the unique role of that a mother and father play in having and raising children). He is the National President of ICI Theological College Australia (a leading Theological distance education provider). He holds degrees in Biblical Studies, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree.
In 1995 he received a word from the Lord about moving to Tasmania from Melbourne. This was such a clear call that he and his young family packed everything they owned into a container and ordered a removalist to send it to “Tasmania”. Andrew had felt the Lord saying to him that God was “sending” him to Tasmania and that He was going to do something significant in an “insignificant” place. “I also felt that the Lord was calling me to sow my life into this call.”
In September 1995, uninvited and unknown, Andrew and his family felt prompted by God to move to Tasmania. He was then invited to pastor Legana Assembly of God, in Tasmania, a struggling church of 17 members, within one week of arriving. Today, this church is Legana Christian Church and has grown considerably.
He is the author of several books including- What Is A Family? (And Why It Matters!), The Most Embarrassing Verse In The Bible, The Most Embarrassing Book In The Bible, Why Christians Should Get Involved, Authentic Apostolic Leadership, and Five Proofs For The Existence of God. His many articles on Biblical, Theological, Apologetic and Public Policy issues appear on this website and Finding Truth Matters (www.findingtruthmatters.org). He has also authored hundreds of Bible Studies for small groups which are available for free download from Legana Christian Church’s website.
Andrew is married to Kim and together they have four children. He is an avid F.W. Boreham book collector, a serious tennis player and coach, and a keen photographer and videographer.
He has preached in nearly every continent (except South America) and been invited to speak in Bible Colleges, High Schools, and Conferences and Conventions.
