One American radio preacher, teaching on the Book of Revelation, told a talk-back caller that all the signs of Christ’s return were now in place and that “the rapture” would now be within 12 months (stated, November 28th 2006)! Let’s examine some of these and similar prophetic ideas.
In the discipline of physical sciences ideas are put forward as theories with certain hypotheses – “If this theory is correct these results should be observed” – and then a model is developed based on the theory which makes certain predictions about its likely outcomes.

Many Christians ignorantly claim that Christians and Muslims actually worship the same God. This statement is echoed by Political leaders who try to appease everyone with these kind of statements. But is “the Christian” God the same as “the Islamic” God?
The argument that all religions are essentially the same except in their ideas about god, heaven, hell, redemption, damnation, sin, holiness, and ultimate destiny highlights that all religion are not the same. Among the world’s most popular religions two have emerged as the leading contenders for the hearts and minds of the globe- Islam and Christianity.

Some people feel that acceptance of God is entirely a matter of faith. But the Scriptures actually claim that it is the truth which is the basis for this faith (Rom. 10:17). Truth is only truth if it is objective truth, that is, it is true for everyone regardless of time or circumstances. Thus, God is either true (and there can be objective proofs to support this), or He is not true and only subjective ‘truth’ can be offered for ‘proof’.
